Rippling is our payroll provider. We use Rippling to pay our employees, to handle tax reporting and interfacing with multiple state governments, and for tracking the time our employees spend on different projects and clients. Rippling is especially great because it offers a "multi-EIN" feature. You can have multiple different companies and legal entities connected together on one Rippling account. No other payroll providers we spoke to offered this feature. This feature was essential for us as a small family of associated startup companies in a shared space and with shared employees and contractors.

  • Allowing for a contractor to be paid from multiple companies in one pay period, or to be connected to multiple companies / EINs
  • There's currently no ability to cancel a payrun or edit its parameters once you start entering information in. You can archive it but not delete it. This is most relevant when creating reimbursement payruns, as it is easy to select an incorrect option and only realize it too late.
  • There are several areas in the application where a back button would be appreciated.
Rippling is the best payroll provider if you have multiple companies that you want registered together. No other payroll provider we spoke to offered the multi-EIN feature that Rippling provides.

We are a small company and Rippling works great for us at our size. I do not know how well the application scales, but I could see the systems being less than ideal for very large companies.

Similarly, a very small company many not need all the features that Rippling offers and can get away with a cheaper payroll company. For example, a sole proprietorship with two employees probably should use Gusto or some other option if they need a payroll company, but Rippling would still be a useful service for these companies vs. no payroll company at all. It is just a matter of price.

Since moving to Rippling, our processes have become streamlined and very accessible to all who utilize the platform. I use the Rippling Platform daily; it has become part of my life. Rippling is very open to suggestions from their clients on ways to improve the platform and add areas to improve the streamlining process.

We use Rippling for payroll and learning/development. I use it from the Payroll side and have had no issues. The implementation was great. Very smooth transition from our previous payroll provider. After using it a year now I have encountered no issues. The customer service is top notch. They answer all questions quickly.

Rippling is great for payroll processing for organizations around 50 to 300 employees which is where the organization I work for is now at. I can imagine it could be an issue if your company has more than 10,000 employees due to having to register with each state yourself and keep up with all the tax notices.

We use Rippling HRIS for payroll, time & attendance, Benefits, learning management, recruiting, background checks, headcount and compensation budgeting, etc. What is great about Rippling is that it is very user friendly. One of my favorite app's is the insurance app. It takes away 75% of my job when it comes to offering an employee health insurance. It makes it easy for employees to understand what they are signing up for and how much it is going to cost. The same goes for terminating an employees insurance after they leave the company. It even sends all the supporting documents for cobra. It has made my job so much easier

Rippling is the most comprehensive business support system I can have encountered. HR, Payroll and Finance solutions create one-step logins and integration and they are constantly adding more ways to support companies of all sizes.

I am also impressed with the support for set up in various states and knowledge about each states labor laws, and overall set up for each state.

We use Rippling for onboarding and offboarding employees, payroll, performance reviews, and our benefits management. Rippling has assisted our employees by allowing them to have control over their paychecks. They are able to change their own IRA contribution amounts without having to go through a third-party payroll company. The onboarding and offboarding process is so easy and has streamlined both processes. Rippling is also very user friendly. The app is greatly appreciated by all of my employees and helps to provide transparency in the payroll process. I just recently added a Flex spending benefit for my employees and setting it up was so easy! I did have one little snafu, but all it took was a 15-minute video conference to have it all fixed. We also recently added the performance management app to our repertoire. That has been so helpful in making annual reviews more productive since it gives the employee and employer things to talk about in our reviews. In the near future, we may have an employee going remote, so I am now looking into Rippling's options for device management. All in all, I couldn't recommend Rippling enough!

  • Providing point of contact for different aspects of the program, we have a customer service rep, who is fantastic, but he is the only person I know to reach out to, and he generally has to follow up with me with information on which department/person I need to get in touch with to resolve my question.
  • Their "help" section is a bit difficult to navigate, but I will say the team chat makes up for that particular shortfall.
  • Their pricing is a bit all over the place. Everything is "al a carte," so the costs can add up quickly.
We are a very small business (11 employees when we are at "capacity"). Rippling allows us to accommodate all of our employment types (hourly, salary, contract), and makes it easy. There are a few things that I have found that seem to be better suited for a much larger company (e.g. company credit cards, expense reimbursement, etc.), but we just use what we need and what works for us. Rippling has made many aspects of management much easier, and it's interactive and kind of fun.

I use Rippling on a daily basis to check my hours, to follow up on learning management courses and if I need time off I am requesting it in the system and within minutes I get a reply.

Rippling is highly effective for managing personal clock-in and clock-out times, as well as for requesting time off. It provides a convenient overview of remaining paid time off hours, streamlining the process compared to the previous method of emailing HR and waiting for a response. Now, I can independently handle all these tasks. Tracking my requests is straightforward, and the interface makes it easy to monitor everything. One aspect I find less favorable is that, when reviewing my team's hours, the platform displays the clock-in and clock-out times but lacks precision by not showing the exact minutes taken, which could be an improvement.

We use Rippling as our HRIS system and use it to power all People and Finance Functions. From Onboarding and Benefits elections and enrollments to payroll and time keeping - Rippling is the powerhouse that keeps us going! All employee information is stored in Rippling and within the People Team of our company I use it every day to either process a change, look up information I need in the moment, or pull a report that I will use to further accomplish my objectives. We have recently decided to add the Applicant Tracking System aspect to our Subscription and we are looking very forward to seeing the myriad benefits of using Rippling to process and handle that kind of information. Rippling's recipes and workflows have completely revolutionized how we do our People business and I am exponentially more pleased with this HRIS than our last product, which also happened to be great for what we needed at the time.

Rippling's workflows and recipes have completely revolutionized how we handle our People processes.Our onboarding and offer letter process has become very fluid and streamlined so that documents are signed and sorted in real-time and are easily retrievable for future reference.Have custom reports triggered to send out to the right people is also a game-changer, and I enjoy having custom reports that I can refer to and update in real-time whenever I need them. We love Rippling!

I use Rippling in a talent acquisition way. I hire people, process offer letters, manage documentation, merit increases, etc. The only problem I have with Rippling is the response time when you are creating offer letters. It takes an insane amount of time for information to pull from JazzHR and auto populate in Rippling.

I use it to keep up to date on any benefit elections and payroll changes, as well as time off request and accruals. It's a very user friendly site that is simple and easy to navigate while Rippling takes care of the complexity that is the nature of insurance and electing benefits.

Our company uses Rippling for payroll, vacation, benefits, and device management.

We got Rippling to handle a bunch of different HR processes, and came from Gusto.

Rippling is very thoughtfully designed, and it's easy to do the things I need to do as an employee. Requesting vacation time is one example. I can see my balance, request PTO, see my future balance, and more. As a manager I get notified when a member of my team has requested PTO and I can easily approve it.

For benefits enrollment, they make it super easy, having all the paperwork pre-filled out with my information and I just need to review and sign after making my plan selections.

While I was running my own business, I did not know of Rippling, but wish I had. From and employee user perspective this has been a very simple tool to use for payroll reporting, W-2 reporting, and all HR materials. I just went through open enrollment process and it took maybe 5 minutes to complete. This is a very simple tool for the employees and the company I work for, Linea Solutions, is using it for over 100 active employees and it makes the HR process very smooth.
  • Payroll Reporting to employees - emails when my check has been deposited, easy to get to and display full check stub for any check that I have been paid by the company.
  • Open Enrollment - Took 5 minutes to complete. Very well organized and the process flow was extremely easy to understand. I didn't have to bother any actual human being to get answers or to resolve any issues.
  • Ease of use - this is a very well-designed user interface. As a software developer I get very frustrated with sites that do not have intuitive, easy to understand user interfaces. This is one of the easiest I've seen. Rippling has done a great job of simplifying tasks that most employees feel are a disruption to their day.
  • I seriously have no complaints at this time. I feel the product is well designed and currently would not change anything.
If you are dealing with any number of employees, I would definitely recommend Rippling. It is the best interface I've personally seen and very intuitive to use.

Community Works uses Rippling for a myriad of things from Human resource Documents to payroll. It is a one-stop shop for the employee to get information on anything in regard to work related experience. Community WOrks has been able to streamline a lot of processes and procedures, all thanks to the rippling database.

We use Rippling for payroll and employee management first and foremost. We also use it to generate reports for historical payroll, taxes, health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance. It's very helpful in breaking down employee payments by state. The custom reporting is very clear and flexible to use. We are an early stage startup.
